One artist. Many styles. Timeless entertainment.

THE STORY BEHIND THE VOICE

Born in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, Michael Heaven’s love for music began at an early age. He spent much of his childhood with his grandparents, whose record collection opened the door to a world of timeless music and legendary performers.

One of Michael’s earliest musical memories is listening to Tom Jones’ “Green, Green Grass of Home” — the very first song he remembers truly discovering. Soon afterwards, a neighbour introduced him to the music of Engelbert Humperdinck, beginning an admiration that would, many years later, lead to an extraordinary encounter on stage.

Those early influences planted the seeds for a musical identity that would eventually embrace not only the great crooners and romantic balladeers, but a much broader spectrum of timeless popular music.

Michael later studied at the renowned Hotelschool Ter Duinen in Koksijde, where his connection with the United Kingdom already began through professional internships in England. After completing his studies, he continued his career there, turning those first experiences abroad into an important chapter of his life. Together, his internships and subsequent professional career in England spanned nine years.

It was during those years that Michael’s musical journey began to take an unexpected turn. While building his professional career in hospitality, his talent as a singer was noticed within the hotel industry, opening the door to opportunities to provide live musical entertainment at exclusive events. What had always been a passion was gradually finding its way onto the stage.

Living and working in England also immersed Michael in British culture, music and entertainment — influences that would later become an unmistakable part of his identity as a singer and performer.

In 2009, Michael returned to Belgium with an increasingly clear ambition: to give music a central place in his life. What began as a passion developed into a professional journey, driven by a love for timeless songs, live performance and the special connection that can exist between an artist and an audience.

Over the years, Michael developed his own distinctive style: rooted in the elegance and romance of the classic crooner era, yet broad enough to embrace different genres and generations.

That journey continues today, with Michael building his career in Belgium and internationally while remaining true to what first drew him to music — a great song, a distinctive voice and a genuine connection with the audience.

A SPECIAL CONNECTION WITH ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK

What began as a childhood admiration for the music of Engelbert Humperdinck would, many years later, become one of the defining chapters in Michael Heaven’s musical journey.

By the time Michael began building his own career as a singer, Engelbert’s timeless repertoire had become an important influence on his musical style. In late 2016, Michael paid tribute to his great musical inspiration by recording and releasing his own version of “Dommage Dommage.”

Then came a moment Michael could once only have dreamed of.

On June 24, 2017, during Engelbert Humperdinck’s Worldwide 50th Anniversary Tour at the Stadsschouwburg in Antwerp, Michael was invited to join the legendary international star on stage. Together, they performed “Dommage Dommage” — bringing Michael’s journey from childhood admirer to fellow performer full circle.

That evening became a defining career milestone: Michael Heaven became the first and only Belgian artist to perform an exclusive duet with Engelbert Humperdinck.

For Michael, however, the significance of that evening went far beyond a career achievement. Sharing the stage with an artist whose music had inspired him from such a young age was an unforgettable personal moment — and one that continues to hold a very special place in his story.

Engelbert’s influence remains part of Michael’s musical identity today, while Michael has continued to develop a voice, style and repertoire distinctly his own — bringing together the timeless elegance of the great crooners with music from across genres and generations.

From childhood inspiration to sharing the same stage — a musical connection that came full circle.

CAREER MILESTONES

RECOGNITION & A MEMORABLE YEAR — 2017

The duet with Engelbert Humperdinck marked the beginning of an eventful period in Michael’s career. In September 2017, he received a special distinction from Het Gulden Vlies Brugge, recognising him for “De Meest Opvallende en Veelbelovende Carrière”Most Remarkable and Promising Career.

Later that year, Michael joined Belgian singer Garry Hagger for a special performance at the legendary ’t Kuipke in Ghent. On November 14, during the famous Six Days of Ghent, they performed Michael’s single “Only The Strong Survive”, which had been adapted as an anthem for the riders and audience.

The performance demonstrated another side of Michael as an artist — energetic, contemporary and at home on a stage far removed from the traditional crooner setting.

ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS — 2019

Another defining moment followed in 2019, when Michael travelled to London to record his interpretation of “You’re My World” at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

The recording was conceived as a tribute to Cilla Black, whose iconic version of the song had been released 55 years earlier. For Michael, the session carried an extraordinary sense of musical history: he recorded the song in the same legendary surroundings and, according to studio information from the session, using the same Neumann microphone associated with Cilla’s original recording.

Recording at Abbey Road — a place synonymous with some of the greatest names in music history — became another unforgettable milestone in Michael’s journey.

BEYOND BELGIUM

Michael’s career has increasingly taken him beyond his home country. He has performed several times at The Purple Lounge at Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains, Luxembourg, and brought his show to Fiesta Blanca in Torrevieja, Spain. Following the enthusiastic reception of his first appearance there, Michael was invited to return in 2022, performing at an event attended by more than 3,000 people.

These international performances strengthened Michael’s ambition to bring his music to audiences both at home and abroad.

ON STAGE & ON SCREEN

Alongside his international performances, Michael has continued to build a strong live presence in Belgium. His appearances at the Vredefeesten in Sint-Niklaas brought his versatile repertoire to a large public audience, while his series of Christmas performances at Waasland Shopping Center proved equally successful, leading to a return engagement.

Michael has also reached wider audiences through television and professionally produced concert broadcasts. His Christmas productions and special concerts have been featured on Belgian television, including MENT TV and TV OOST.

Each milestone has added a new chapter, but the direction has remained the same: bringing timeless music to life for audiences wherever the stage may be.

MORE THAN A CROONER

The timeless elegance of the great crooners remains at the heart of Michael Heaven’s musical identity — but it is only part of the story.

Over the years, Michael has developed into a versatile performer with a repertoire that crosses styles, decades and generations. Alongside the timeless songs of Engelbert Humperdinck and legendary crooners, his performances embrace Evergreens, Pop, Soul, Motown, Disco and Dance Classics, together with carefully selected contemporary favourites.

From intimate romantic ballads to sophisticated crooner classics — and from soulful favourites to energetic, feel-good songs that invite an audience to sing and dance — Michael knows how to adapt his performance to the occasion while maintaining his own distinctive style.

It is this versatility that allows him to connect with different audiences and perform in a wide variety of settings, from theatres and concert halls to festivals, hotels, resorts, casinos, corporate events and exclusive private occasions.

Michael’s performances are not about recreating a single era. They are about bringing great songs from across the decades together in one distinctive live experience.
